Tree planting on the Elgin Estate

“The sun came out for the WECH tree planting day on Saturday 24 February. WECH residents of all ages joined WECH staff, Board members and Healthy Community Gardens Association (HCGA) to plant Cherry and Magnolia trees to bring some more colour into the Elgin Estate.

We were fortunate to be joined by Westminster City Council’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Patricia McAllister and Ward Councillors Ruth Bush and Concia Albert who aided family members in planting a memorial tree for a beloved resident of Athens Gardens, Beryl Carmody, who had helped everyone in the community.

This project is being funded by Westminster and supported by HCGA. We will continue our mission to make our community green and will keep you posted on future activities. We thank you for your support.”
